Testimonials
LETTER OF RECOMMENDATION for BETTINA CAREY
It’s with great pride and honor that I put my name with Bettina Carey as a reference and offer my recommendation. I have had the great please of working with, working for and working at Bettina’s side on my projects over the last 5 years. And I can honestly say that in each and every instance I was impressed, grateful and felt the impact of her talent and vision.
Our work in forming the Cascade Golfer / Duke’s Seafood Golf Scholarship was a testament to her vision giving heart. This is now in its 4th year and dozens of youths have benefitted as a result in the part she played in bringing this to life.
As the local producer of the James Beard Taste America in Seattle for 7 years now, I have watched Bettina become a true stalwart in this event series. Her impacts are wide and deep as we appointed her as a Co-Chairperson for 3 years running. Her philanthropic work, marketing savvy and networking in the culinary and entertainment worlds all come together in her work on James Beard Seattle. I am always astounded to see her newest ideas and efforts.
I have also worked with her on the Seattle Golf Show as a sponsor, collaborated on media campaigns, video projects, watched her launch culinary careers, raise professional profiles and build alliances – like no one else.
Mostly, I am honored to call her a friend and peer. I recommend her for any project or opportunity she feels she’s qualified for. Her focus and professionalism will bring success to anything she’s associated with. Don’t miss a chance to have this incredible woman become involved with your enterprise.
Feel free to contact me with any questions you may have. I give her my highest recommendation.

To Whom It May Concern,
I am writing to officially recognize the extraordinary volunteer contributions of Bettina Carey to the American Lake Veterans Golf Course.
Bettina’s involvement began as a direct result of Kyle Murray’s generous support through Murray’s Collision Group. What started as a single act of corporate generosity quickly evolved into something far greater. Inspired by that initial contribution, Bettina stepped forward to offer her professional expertise—a decision that has fundamentally transformed our trajectory.
From the outset, Bettina brought a clear vision. Her initiative to create a donor recognition program, naming Murray’s Collision Group as our first major supporter, helped formalize and elevate our fundraising efforts. Since then, the course has raised over $100,000, directly connected to the energy and structure she introduced.
Her leadership extends far beyond a single campaign. Bettina provides ongoing marketing strategy, public relations, social media management, website oversight, and general consulting—all in a volunteer capacity. Under her guidance, website traffic has increased to over 2,000 views per month, dramatically improving our visibility and donor engagement.
Our digital presence is being modernized through a complete website overhaul currently in her hands.
Critical Fundraising: She is currently leading efforts to replace a $50,000 piece of equipment essential to maintaining safe course operations.
Simply put, Bettina is helping bring the American Lake Veterans Golf Course into the 21st century.
Equally important is the spirit in which she serves. Her involvement is relational, not transactional. While Kyle Murray’s support opened the door, Bettina’s commitment and belief in our mission have expanded that gift into sustainable growth. Her volunteerism reflects both professional excellence and a genuine heart for the veterans and families we serve.
I am continually amazed by her dedication. In a world that can often feel dark, Bettina provides us with direction, insight, and a clear vision for our future.
Sincerely,
Sam Williams
